Orkney

The Orkney is a creature that appears in the ranks of the White Witch's army, summoned to fight against Aslan and the forces of good. It is listed among the many evil beings that gather around the Stone Table on the night of Aslan's sacrifice, a crowd that includes Ogres, Werewolves, Bull-headed men, spirits of evil trees and poisonous plants, Cruels, Hags, Incubuses, Wraiths, Efreets, Sprites, Wooses, and Ettins. The Orkney is part of this terrifying assembly, which the Witch commands after the Wolf has called out her followers. The creature is present when Aslan is bound, shaved, and killed on the Stone Table, and it later joins the charge down the hill toward the Fords of Beruna, where the final battle takes place. The Orkney is one of the many enemies that Peter, Edmund, and Aslan's army fight in the decisive conflict, and it is presumably among those defeated when Aslan himself kills the White Witch and her forces are routed. The Orkney thus serves as a minor but integral component of the Witch's monstrous host, contributing to the atmosphere of horror and the scale of the final confrontation.
